• Metro Group of Hospitals was founded in 1997 by Dr. Purshotam Lal (Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Dr. B.C. Roy National Awardee), a pioneer of interventional cardiology in India, with a vision to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable to all sections of society.
• Driven by the belief that compassionate healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege, the group was established to serve especially the underserved — patients from lower and middle-income groups who are often overlooked by large corporate hospitals. Metro Group of Hospitals aims to eliminate financial barriers to treatment and provide advanced medical care with empathy and dignity.
• Today, the group comprises 11 hospitals and 1 medical college (Metro College of Health Sciences and Research), with a collective capacity of 2,500+ beds. Of these, 10 hospitals are NABH accredited and 4 laboratories are NABL accredited, reflecting the highest standards in clinical and laboratory excellence in India.
